Regulations

Participation

  1. Any player under the age of 18 has the right to participate.
  2. The tournaments are not valid for FIDE Rating. It will be valid for SIMBA Rating though.
  3. Entry fee is paid upon registration and is non-refundable.
  4. By registering each player agrees to abide by the regulations of the championship including the anti-cheating rules.

System of Play

  1. The tournaments will be played using the 5 Rounds Swiss System.
  2. The time control will be 30 minutes for the whole game with 15 seconds increment from move 1.

Disconnection and Technical Issues

  1. Every player must have a working internet connection for the duration of the tournament.
  2. If a player is disconnected from the server, the player must reconnect as soon as he can and continue the game.
  3. A player may lose their game due to slow or loss of internet connection.
  4. The Chief Arbiter’s decisions cannot be appealed.

Prizes

  1. The best three players of each category will recieve trophies.
  2. Players in categories III and IV qualify for a higher category with a score of 4/5.
  3. Players in category V qualify for category IV with a score of 3/5.
  4. All players who have achieved a higher category shall recieve certificates.

Other Regulations

  1. Players will be required to join a Zoom Call. Players are required to use either a laptop or desktop computer as players need a camera and to share their screen.

  2. The tournament will adhere to the FIDE Online Chess Regulations which can be found on the FIDE Website>>.
